Unfortunately this is not a hickey… but a burn from a curling iron that happened on Friday. My hair has a natural curl but wanted to smooth is out a bit and this is what I get. They’re awful and happen to all of us at some point in time. I’d say just ladies but I know dudes who use them too.
My first response besides cursing and yelling was to put Lavender oil on it ASAP. If you don’t have any Lavender then get some. Its the best thing for burns as it takes the sting and redness out right away. They discovered the use for Lavender oil during the war when they ran out of medical supplies and were relying on natural remedies.
You can see the day 1 picture isn’t so bad…. but then day 2 its at the full tenderness. I’ve decided to treat it with the DaLish Ultra Lux cream as it has lavender, seaweed gel extract, myrrh and many other soothing/healing ingredients. Will keep you posted on the healing results.

Today’s inspiration comes from my new obsession which in Pinterest. If you haven’t yet signed up then just don’t as its addictive. Its like when facebook or twitter came out and you checked it every 5 seconds or at least I did in the beginning.
Now that there’s no turning back here’s what I cam across today…. this is my perfect everyday office look minus the Coach bag. Not a fan. Am I a totally jerk to say its the poor woman’s Louie?
These are my flattering colour combo and the pearl is my birth stone for Cancer. I wear my pearls out for fancy events all the time. Saw this picture and just LOVED it. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if they just packaged it all up together with a set price and you just picked the sizes. I would absolutely just buy everything minus the Coach bag. It that really too much to ask?
Here are the before and after photos I worked on for the new TV series The Transporter that’s being shot here in Toronto for HBO. Sadly Jason Statham isn’t in it but these beautiful woman are and so is Chris Vance. He’s been on Dexter and a few other TV series. Really I don’t care about anything other then Dexter as its one of my fav shows. The girls were great to work with and I had a lot of fun working with Luisa Duran & Mario Miotti.
WOW.. this has been way to long since I posted and as part of my new years resolutions, I’ve promised myself to make sure that I keep up with dalishlife. I really enjoy doing the posts and just need to make the time for them no matter how tired I am. This is really the only way I’m able to share all the awesome photos of day to day life.
I was lucky enough to assist on the new show opener for Fashion Television. No biggies right… This is the first up date in 10 years so I was super excited when my friend Eduardo Mella asked me to help him out. He used all the DaLish products I bought including the blue powder that the model claps her hands together with. It was a very last minute idea the director had and who know it would have been used.
The shoot was 12 hours and shot in a warehouse on the Danforth. I had a great time and the day flew by as so much needed to be fitted in. I ended up doing a lot of hair which was a new venture for me but it all turned out well thankfully.
Here are some of the photos I took from behind the scenes!
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
probably eating something….
You know its going to be that type of day when you pour the rest of your smoothie into your freshly brewed cup of coffee. Still drinkable… and not so bad.
In other DaLish news, the display unit for the OOAK is finally painted and assembled. It was a real bugger but it looks great and thus far the reactions from people have been great. My new issue is signage…. so many options but nothing super cost effective as of yet. Its ridiculous how much simple signs can be. I’m open to any suggestions.
Its been a few days since my last up date on my wound but here’s the latest. Its looking better but burning like crazy! It takes every ounce of strength not to itch it constantly. The Aloe Vera helps to sooth it but the in between times are brutal. It sucks to because its my right hand. whomp whomp!
Almost 2 weeks since I got sliced and the difference is pretty incredible. Still applying the aloe vera plant directly onto my wound and rub it for about 5 minutes a day to break up the scare tissue which I can feel a difference. The worst part still is the bruising. I wish it would just get lost.
